Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it with non-stick spray.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about two-thirds full.
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar.
